Alpine bio is a plant genetics company focused on redefining protein production from the soil up. We believe that replacing resource-intensive production methods with highly efficient and regenerative systems can facilitate rapid, planet-scale change. Our proprietary biomanufacturing platform makes this possible. Since 2016, we’ve been transforming soybeans into the world’s most efficient protein factories, harnessing their natural ability to create functional proteins at scale and unprecedented efficiency. Our first ingredient, casein, an unstructured dairy protein that gives cheese its stretch, melt, and much of its nutrition, has been developed. We've designed the seeds, grown the plants, purified the protein, and now we're set to begin tastings of our animal-free mozzarella via our brand Nobell Foods in 2025.

Sculpture in public space Aluminum tubes and connectors, 3d printed elements, cables [ 550 × 250 × 250 cm ]
In the direct vicinity of the iconic and highly eclectic building ensemble of the Wildbad conference hotel in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, GROWING ON SUSPENDED MYTHOLOGIES has been permanently installed as part of the sculpture garden there since October 2021. The builder of the Wildbad was Friedrich Hessing, who rose to prominence at the end of the 19th century with the invention of the orthosis and the establishment of an orthopedic institution in Augsburg. For me, this context was of course a welcome invitation to continue my artistic research on the potential of physical injury or illness - or on the fragility of human life in general - with this work as well.

The catalog can be read from both sides. Opened from the front, the contents begin with the afterword and, distributed throughout the entire contents, guide the viewer through further works by the artist via pages of quotes. Opened from the back, the catalog begins with the foreword and, distributed throughout the contents, shows views of the artwork, "Growing on Suspended Mythologies."

”The Ingabo – A Night to Fall“ uniquely connects historical events in Rwan- da-Urundi during the German colonial era with the Silesian weavers' uprising. The Abadasigana resistance movement, led by courageous Ingabo warriors in the struggle against German occupation, is brought to life by the project, find- ing its voice and recognition on stage. The harsh suppression by the then-Gov- ernor of German East Africa, Count von Goetzen, and the determination of Burundian fighters are illuminated. Simultaneously, the piece is inspired by Gerhart Hauptmann's drama ”Die Weber,“ addressing the Silesian weavers' uprising of 1844. In ”The Ingabo – A Night to Fall,“ skillful parallels are drawn between the events. Going beyond historical reflection, the project creates a new music theater piece through collaboration between artists from Upper Lusatia/Lower Silesia and Burundi. This play becomes a reenactment of the Abadasigana resistance movement, preserving the memory of the victims of German colonialism. It makes a powerful statement against injustice and op- pression by placing past themes in the context of the present and future. ”The Ingabo - A Night to Fall“ is more than an art project: it attests to the strength of the human spirit against oppression and calls for solidarity and intercultural exchange across times and places. It inspires active engagement in shaping the present and creating a better future. The project vividly illustrates how art can heal historical wounds and promote awareness of social justice.
